City of Milwaukee’s Water Centric City Initiative

Erick Shambarger, Sustainability Director, Environmental Collaboration Office, City of Milwaukee

The City of Milwaukee’s sustainability plan – ReFresh Milwaukee – sets out goals for the city around water. One of these goals is to establish Milwaukee as America’s Water Centric City.

The City of Milwaukee’s Environmental Collaboration Office (ECO) is launching the new Water Centric City initiative by celebrating Water Week from March 20-24, 2017, coinciding with the United Nations’ World Water Day on March 22.

Every day during Water Week, ECO is partnering with amazing water organizations based in Milwaukee to showcase all of the local public, private, and non-profit efforts making Milwaukee a Water Centric City.

Come learn about the free public events planned for Water Week and how Milwaukee is thinking globally but acting locally to become America’s Water Centric City!
