  • Parking: There is free two-hour street parking until 9pm in front of the building, or metered parking on 8th Street and 10th Street. Caution: they do ticket in the evening here. Alternatively, the parking structure across the street offers parking at $0.75/hour, unless there is a special event.

Bio:  Erick Shambarger is the Deputy Director of the City of Milwaukee Office of Environmental Sustainability. The Milwaukee Office of Environmental Sustainability was created by Mayor Tom Barrett to develop practical solutions that benefit Milwaukee’s environment and economy. Mr. Shambarger oversees the Milwaukee Energy Efficiency (Me2) program and the Milwaukee Better Buildings Challenge, chairs the City’s Energy Reduction Team to reduce energy use across City operations, and promotes innovative storm water management practices and green infrastructure. Mr. Shambarger developed the idea of converting basements of abandoned properties into underground stormwater management structures called BaseTerns. He contributed to the Energy Chapter of the City’s ReFresh Milwaukee sustainability plan and manages the City’s PACE financing program. Prior to his current role, he served as City Economist in the City’s Budget and Management Division. He holds a Masters of Public Affairs degree from the University of Wisconsin and certificates in Water Technology and Energy Analysis and Policy.
