  • Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery. 901 W Juneau, Milwaukee. map it This unique German-style beer hall is located in the Pabst Brewery re-development. The “Brewery” was recently awarded LEED-ND Platinum, making it one of the greenest neighborhood developments in the US.
  • Parking: There is free one and two-hour street parking until 9pm in front of the building, or metered parking on 8th Street and 10th Street. Caution: they do ticket in the evening here. Alternatively, the parking structure across the street offers parking at $0.75/hour, unless there is a special event.

TOPIC: The Milwaukee Streetcar

Summary:  The Milwaukee Streetcar project was approved by the Milwaukee Common Council on February 10, 2015. The initial project is a 2.5-mile system modern streetcar system in the downtown area, with plans to expand the system to neighborhoods and destinations throughout Milwaukee. Come learn and ask questions about the system, it’s benefits and the timetable going forward.

Bio: Dan Casanova is a Senior Economic Development Specialist for the City of Milwaukee’s Department of City Development, assigned to major City development initiatives such as Reed Street Yards, Port Redevelopment Plan, Lakefront Gateway, Northwestern Mutual expansion and West Wisconsin Avenue.  Duties include managing tax incremental districts, securing Common Council approval for projects, negotiating development agreements and assisting business owners, developers and associations considering an investment, expansion or project in Milwaukee.  Advocate for alternative transportation options such as the Milwaukee Streetcar, Zipcar and bikeshare.  Founding member of the local investment group, Fund Milwaukee.  A 2004 graduate of UW-Madison’s Real Estate and Urban Land Economics program.
