Milwaukee: On the path towards being a “City of the Future”

At the request of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the White House Council on Environmental Quality, MMSD Executive Director and our next Green Drinks speaker Kevin Shafer led a discussion of financing so-called green infrastructure —  green and permeable landscapes — at a White House conference on municipal storm water in 2012. Kevin  has also been honored with an appointment to a national advisory panel serving the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The committee is chartered to advise the EPA on multiple issues. Among them are: regulatory innovation and reform; environmental protection tools; pollution prevention; new technologies; and appropriate roles of all levels of government in environmental management. His intriguing topic will be:Milwaukee: On the path towards being a “City of the Future”.
